DescriptionOne of my favorite Transformers characters made his Skybound debut in issue 7. I was honestly shocked to see him in the series so soon but man was I pumped. On this page, the mentor/mentee relationship between Arcee & Carly is being formed. In that process, Arcee shares information about her own mentor, Ultra Magnus. We get to see Ultra Magnus in this splashy flashback image in all his City Commander glory! He is shown saving a young Arcee from a devastating Decepticon attack.This issue also marked the debut of Jorge Corona on the series and I was instantly impressed with what he was bringing to the table! I loved his work on issue 7 and it has only gotten better since! The energetic & emotional vibes that we came to expect from DWJ on issues 1-6 are still there! The series is delivering heart and beautiful action! Jorge quickly made me a huge fan of his work & it all started here! Social/Sharing |

Ultra Magnus intro makes him look like such a unit. He looks like he will be totally ready for battle when push comes to shove later in the arc.

I wonder how far will Carly go to take revenge on the Decepticons. This storyline is still brewing and you have to wonder if she'll crossover into GI Joe at some point.

That's a great idea, to have her at least flirt with the idea of joining those ranks. Clearly she's not elite but she no doubt has information they'd find quite useful!

Ultra Badass! I don't know much about the character but that's a helluva an imposing look/design. Great frenetic style artwork - very cool page. Congrats!

Thanks man! Yeah, he's a super imposing figure & was always billed as a potential replacement for Optimus Prime in the leadership role. Have always loved the look of this guy!!

Thanks Rubén! I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to make this one happen. I initially thought it would be out of my reach but I'm really happy that I was able to work out the deal for this one!

Thanks Ken! It definitely moved right to the top as one of my favorite images of Ultra Magnus to date. It has some stiff competition to that amazing DPS from issue 11. I love here though that he is right in the thick of battle while still showing his heart by assisting young Arcee! Just a beautiful piece!
