Description

Derec's been painting tons of awesome sketch cards lately! I tuned in to one of his WhatNot streams awhile back and saw that he'd done this fantastic Lobo. And, as you may know, Lobo was a member of both L.E.G.I.O.N. and R.E.B.E.L.S., which means that this card was a perfect fit for my collection, especially since Derec was the main penciller on the first R.E.B.E.L.S. series!

Even in the small format of a sketch card, Derec sure made sure to hit all the Lobo classics: the cigar, the chain, the hook, the feral grin. The blood-red background was an excellent touch, too. The only other instance of red on the card is Lobo's eyes, which really makes them stand out against everything else. And as always, I love Derec's careful use of highlights and shading, along with all the finer details he added, like the scuffs on Lobo's hook and the intricate links of the chain.

He's got that bad boy charm and animal magnetism in the smile to make the ladies swoon! Plus Lobo's big hook can scratch your itch.
