DescriptionBlack Suit Symbiote Spider-Man illustration by Ricardo Drumond. An earlier Ricardo piece, feels like he's still working out his posing/style in this to some degree, but it's pretty enjoyable to look at in person. Spidey sure knows how to build a comfy web-hammock! Purchased in the smokey back room of a Zoom session with a few other collectors, from Eranga, thanks again bro! I'm not familiar with this artist, but I'm really happy to see more younger guys learning to ink with a brush rather than pens, as the brush adds a very specific type of texture and organic quality that I love and can't be achieved with pen. I also really like how he set the light source to come in from the left. Good to see you back and posting again, my friend!

I agree re: the brush... "an elegant weapon of a more civilized age" Nice Spidey !!

Love the reverse use of white to highlight Spidey. This is a great piece.

Congrats!

Now, the brush don't move
To the inks of commission,
Black might be suit for you,
May not be suit for some.
A costume's born, from Beyonder's beans.
Then along on Zoom,
You got Spidey by all means.
But you got,
Drumond's Strokes.
It takes,
Drumond's Strokes.
It takes,
Drumond's Strokes to suit your world

This looks great. You know the artist loves to draw when they are willing to sit there and do the webbing with a black background like that. Congrats!

Amazing looking piece, love the play go of lights and shadows on the costume. Really nicely rendered details. Great art indeed!

Yep, he's clearly waiting for a message in that spider's web. Song name checks out, Gwen. This is a very cool piece. I dig how casual his pose in his webbing, and using light source to define texture is something I always like seeing. Second music choice: Back in Black. So much lovely ink! Great score. Congrats!

Spidey called and said he loved his new home! Really glad it was you that picked this piece up, man!

Spidey chillin'! "Just leave a message and all I'll you back" :) Some attention to detail needed for that web hammock, and I really dig how he rendered Spidey with the brush. Congrats, Kavi!
