DescriptionStar Wars: The High Republic Adventures #3 Cover1st cover appearances Marchion Ro, Zeen Mrala, and Krix Kamerat. Art by Harvey Tolibao Series written by Daniel José Older An amazing High Republic cover from Harvey Tolibao, that features the first cover appearances of several major characters in Phase 1 of the High Republic publishing initiative by Lucasfilm - including the main villain of the series, Marchion Ro! He also happens to be one of my favorite new Star Wars villains/characters in the entire saga, so this was a big addition for me! Also having another cover with Yoda, albeit a few hundred years younger than we're used to seeing him, is a nice bonus to this piece. For a little background on the 1st appearance characters: Marchion Ro was a male Evereni who held the title of Eye of the Nihil (primary antagonist/villain group) in the days of the High Republic. Zeen Mrala was a Force-sensitive Mikkian female who lived during the High Republic Era. Mrala was terrified of her strength with the Force and sought to keep her abilities suppressed due to the Elders' beliefs that the Force should not be touched by any living thing. Krix Kamerat was a human male, and the best friend of Zeen Mrala. Raised by the Elders of the Path to believe that it was wrong for any living being to touch the Force, Krix was unaware that Mrala was Force-sensitive and desperately attempting to suppress her abilities. These characters intersect in the storyline for the first time in this issue. Their stories become intertwined and important to each other throughout the series as well. As far as "light side" characters Zeen is particularly interesting, and for me Marchion Ro is the best villain to come out of Disney owned Star Wars since the acquisition. Thanks again to Jiggy and Harvey for the incredible art! Social/Sharing |

Another amazing Star Wars drop. I'm starting to think it's time to move on from Johnny Nmemonic.
"I've had it with them, I've had it with you, I've had it with all this - I want room service! I want the club sandwich, I want the cold Mexican beer, I want a $10,000-a-night hooker! I want my shirts laundered, like they do... at the Imperial Hotel... in Tokyo.”
Nah...

Harvey High Republic work? Yes, please! I only have half of Marchion's story as I've yet to read the novels, but what a great villain for this era. Congrats on nabbing this great cover, Kavi.

For sure!! The adult novels especially do him way more Justice than the comics tbh as far as the main story and his character depth/background although there's def some important stuff for his backstory and his character in the comics. The Marvel Comics mini "Eye Of The Storm" is a must read for his character if you haven't gotten to that one yet!

First cover appearances of not one, not two, but THREE characters?!? Including Kit Kat, my favourite chocolate bar (sorry, "candy bar" for you Americans)? I know you love Star Wars, but dude, I'm pretty sure you love $100k even more. Ship it off to Heritage now! But if not, then enjoy the delicious, crispy wafers and smoo...uh, I mean the beautiful line art!

While we're making food jokes - my favorite cereal when I was a little kid was called "Kix" actually, more of a simple flavored cereal without as much sugary stuff but still tasted good. I def tried Trix also and it's fine but I think I preferred other more sugary cereals more like Lucky Charms, Captain Crunch, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Frosted Flakes, and Cocoa Puffs etc etc. Chocolate bar wise I never loved Kit Kats tbh haha but I like a Nestle Cruch or Heath bar once in a blue moon... this comment has zero to do with this piece of art or Star Wars but hey it spurred some random memories haha 🥣 🍫

That's the beauty of comic art, it can and often does spark memories of the good parts of our childhoods, but not always about comics! I remember the Kix commercials, but don't think it came into Canada. Back in the day, I loved the fruity ones because they made the milk taste so good and it was so refreshing to finish of the milk after I ate the last cereal bits out of the bowl. I loved all of the other ones you mentioned! These days, with age and body changes, I don't eat these super sugary ones much anymore. I typically buy Corn Flakes and eat it with chocolate powder, something my mom startd me off with in the 1970's when she couldn't afford those sugary cereals, so instead she would buy Rice Krispies, put a tablespoon of Quick powder over it and pour the milk, which worked really well because I loved it and I then graduated myself to doing the same over the Corn Flakes, which I continue to this day. Had it as a snack the last two nights in fact. Good times!

Yoda, tell me 'bout the good old days
Sometimes it Zeens like this world's gone Harvey
Yoda, take me back to yesterday
When the line be Krix right and wrong
Didn't seem Ro Jiggy
Did covers really fall in love to stay
And stand beside each other, Star Wars May?
Was a promise really something people flipped
Not investment they would play
Sith families really bow their heads to pray?
Did Jiggy really never go away?
Whoa, whoa, Yoda, tell me 'bout the good old days

Nice movie poster feel to this one, paired with that linework makes for an effective image. I gotta get a Talibao piece soon! Congrats!
