DescriptionRick Hunter leaps to the kill before an Invid Scout crushes Lisa Hayes and Karen Penn. Robotech II, The Sentinels Book III # 12, page 7 (1994).Fun fact: this is the issue where humans learn that the Invid are after the Flower of Life. Ink, gray markers, gouache, color pencil on 14 X 17 inch Bristol board. About this page, Jason said, "Sadly, gray values and tones were never as saturated on the printed page as they are on the actual Bristol board page. Such was the draw-back and sacrifice of screen-tone printing, but necessary to achieve the gradations.” Social/Sharing |

Spooky atmosphere with those Invid egg pod row that stretches to infinity! Very nice to have the story weave the Macross and Mospeada parts.

The tones are super-attractive. Jason Waltrip isn't an artist I hear a lot about here. I had several of his "Metal Bikini" cover pieces back in The Stone Age when I began collecting, but have only one very large pin-up now; It's a tonal piece as well. One day I hope to be able to share it on CAF.
