DescriptionStar Wars Weekly #62 Alternate Cover (Unpublished)Pencils by Bob Budiansky Inks by Frank Springer Here's an alternate/unused cover for Star Wars Weekly #62, the UK reprint comic for Marvel Star Wars in the 1970s that also had new covers and title/splash pages as well. They ultimately went with a different looking Luke (more of a He-Man blonde locks look for the published cover which was done by Frank Springer alone). View the Published version of the cover by Frank Springer My collection is mainly focused on modern/new Star Wars books, for a multitude of reasons, but I will definitely be enjoying adding a few more vintage pieces along the way when it makes sense (and I can afford it!). Another shout out to my good buddy Jeff Wedding, who owned the pair of covers before me along with the actual published cover by Frank, which will of course be my next post as we approach the final days of Star Wars Month! I always felt the temptation to add a headband for Luke on this one, and make him Skywalker-Chi - Master of Galactic Fu!

Luke's brown hair aside, I like this unpublished version a bit more than the published one. I've never been a Frank Springer fan, but I really dig his inking on this piece.

Remember that time you didn't want to spring for the premium oil change, Lukie boy.

Is it just me, or does C3PO kind of look like a badass in this. Fantastic cover and congratulations.

The city street gunfight backdrop would have put too much of a western feel in this one.
