DescriptionAs the Spider-Goblin defeats Sandman and Electro, suddenly the Avengers appear on the scene!But it's an odd team line-up. Doctor Strange? Captain Marvel in her old Ms Marvel costume? Spider-Woman? Wolverine? (Wolverine's not so surprising ... he's pretty much on every team on any given day) Turns out Mysterio has entered the fray and is flexing his illusory chops. Ed was having a bit of fun with the fact that Mysterio is a bit out of touch with who is on the Avengers these days, though to be honest, I'm not quite sure either. But ... I'm pretty sure Mysterio's line-up is wrong in pretty much every way. Not fooled for a second, Spider-Goblin's reaction is pretty funny, as he says "Captain America! What a team you've assembled!" daaaang, this DPS deserves a killer scan!!! but at least we can still see it. Awesome lineup of characters there. Nice one Paul!

I got a new large bed Espon scanner not too long ago, and as great as it is, I'm having trouble with DPSs. I just can't seem to work out how to scan the two boards separately so that they match up when merged. Very frustrating... But I thought this iPhone pic was pretty good, so I went with it. You can enlarge it okay, right?

im not very good at combining 2 halves of DPS pages either...sometimes it lines up easily, and other times i spend an hour trying to tweak the alignment and then trash the file cause i get so frustrated...so i def understand that ! ha. and yeah i can enlarge the photo :)

What you described is EXACTLY what I go through as well! I was finally getting the feel with my last scanner, but this new one is vexing me... I may try again tomorrow with this DPS...after doing some relaxing deep breathing exercises, haha!

Full squad! McGuinness used to make double page splashes with the Hulk vs monsters in this kind of layout, but this is musclebound heroes galore in all the best ways!

I like that gag of Mysterio making his best guess as far as the Avengers lineup goes, lol. Well the hypothetical team sure does look good :) But I dig Sandman and Electro being taken out the way they did...and this Spidey apparently having more fun in the process! Congrats, man!

Yeah, we often forget that when Spidey is not "himself," he often times has a whole heckuva lot more fun. And as readers, we can experience a less tortured, joyful webhead for a bit. And yeah, the way he took out Sandman and Electro is very cool visually. I like the Mysterio's gag too. He's kinda playing the part of a Marvel creator, saying "Hey, how about this team? That would be fun, right?"

Oh no, what has Spider-Goblin done to my Sandman?!? Sandman is AWESOME and it's high time writers realize that his powers should actually make him one of the top villains in the universe. The problem is that since his origin made him out to be some dumb prisoner who acquired the powers, the writers write him like a dummy all the time. Maybe they should retcon that origin and write a new one so he's actually intelligent. I bet THEN they'd treat him as such and make him a top baddie! Ms Marvel is looking pretty good, isn't she?

Wow, another gorgeous McGuinness DPS!! You are on a roll... But I thought you were supposed to leave pieces with Cap to me? But wait, it's an ASM splash, so it belongs in your collection! Now I am torn!!! At any rate, congrats on the beautiful piece!!!!!

Wow! Gorgeous DPS by Ed McGuinness and Mark Farmer! Love this confrontation between the Avengers and Spider-Goblin! What a wild and crazy moment as Goblin appears and Sandman and Electro are defeated. McGuinness does a superb job of laying this page out with the stoic poses of the the Avengers on the left and the ready-for-anything pose of Spider-Goblin on the right. Farmer's inks are incredible on this DPS. His dramatic shading on the Avengers really makes them look formidible. (Has Wolverine ever looked more fierce?) I love the way the light in the scene all seems to eminate from Spider-Goblin's appearance. It sure makes for one stunning Double-Page Spread! Great pick-up!
