DescriptionTHAT COULDN'T HAPPEN...COULD IT?! Yikes! What a jaw-dropping cover--Predator vs. Hulk--And the Predator wins? This has to be the wildest Dale Keown cover ever! Dale is famous for drawing covers and illustrations featuring a massively bulked-up Hulk, but I've never seen him draw anything like this--The Hulk on his back screaming in pain as a triumphant Predator plants his foot on Hulk's stomach and claims victory?? OMG!!! It's almost unbelievable. But there it is--The Hulk in agony, his right hand up and grasping at nothing. His left hand gripping the spear of the Predator. And what a sight the Predator is--Standing proudly over the Hulk, his defiant face snarling, his dreadlocks swinging in the air, the smoke from his gun still swirling above him. It's an incredible variant cover to Hulk #9 by the amazing Dale Keown, with tons of his classic crosshatching and a touch of ink wash to emphasize the shadows. I've seen a lot of Dale Keown Hulk drawings in my life, but never one like this! I just had to have it for my collection!Social/Sharing |

wow this is a stunner both in the content/image itself but in the depth of technique and composition as well. just an incredible Keown piece, which made for a great variant cover. congrats Bill!

Not sure I've ever seen Keown do Predator, but the character really fits his current drawing style. Great cover!

I have to say, Dale really put everything he had into this one - it's stunning. I know this will sound like an unusual thing to focus on, but the shading he shows on the Hulk's right hand is what makes the cover just come alive. Very well done!

A more and more likely to happen scenario with Disney owning Fox! Just incredible work by Keown these days with the freedom and time to bring out the ultimate version of his artistic expression.

Man this cover is amazing! Keown's line work is so detailed and seeing the Hulk being overwhelmed by the Predator makes it even more intriguing. This is a fantastic pick up!

Yeah, the way that Hulk is gripping Predator's spear, I have a feeling the tide is going to turn in a few seconds. But MAN, what a spectacular Keown cover! I love this particular artistic style that he developed later in his career. The inks are EXTRAORDINARY! Keown always draws an ultra-powerful Hulk, but he has outdone himself with his depiction of Predator. I can totally see why you had to have this one in your collection -- Congrats, Bill!

Okay, the first thing that shocks me about this piece is that I never even knew that Predator crossed over with Marvel comics 3 years ago. Either way, this is an outstanding piece of art by the Canadian Sensation, Dale Keown! I'm not going to deny that like most other collectors, I always prefer the hero to be depicted getting the best of the villain, BUT....scenes of the villain getting the upper hand on the hero wouldn't stop me from buying pieces as long as the art looks good, as it obviously does here. Everything about this, from the rendering to the lighting, is of A+ quality. Kudos on another fabulous acquisition, Bill.

Keown clearly still owns the character after all these years as seen in this intense cover.
That being said, I hope that the Hulk wins in the end...
