DescriptionSylvaine awakwens in Countess Báthory's torture chamber, along with two other captive women: “Ahhh! It was a dream… only a dream!” “Yes, it was a dream… but this is reality!” “Noooo!” “Do you like it? This is my private beauty salon, dear Sylvaine, and these are my jars of balms… warm jars of blood…” “Nnh! Nnh!” “No! Noo!” (Báthory stabs a chained girl in the neck, sips her blood, but then tosses aside the goblet.) “The blood of peons… Pfah! She was just a commoner, a servant in this castle. I am sure that the fluid of your veins is more suitable for me, dear Sylvaine. Five centuries ago, I bathed in the blood of virgins. But these days, one must know how to be content. Don't worry! It will be a sweet and sensual death, Sylvaine.” Báthory is a sadist but not a vampire, so she uses an intravenous catheter to exsanguinate Sylvaine for her bath balm. It's pretty tough to insert an IV line successfully without placing a tourniquet on the upper arm to fill the veins against the force of the needle, though. Social/Sharing |

Lots to unpack and appreciate here both art wise and story wise. The Countess may not be a vampire but she's still scary as hell. Sylvaine must be freaked out and scared to wake up with another woman//victim in the room, not to mention one with a Jason mask on who is bound/tied and emptied of blood. Also low key burn about how Countess used to bathe in virgin blood centuries ago but victims like Sylvaine will suffice and be better than just any servant girl ha. I guess even immortal sadists have "back in my day..." stories!
