DescriptionJust like in Jurassic Park, the monsters in Dracula Park are now roaming the halls looking for someone to eat: “A… a flaming pit? And I was falling into it! First that monster and now…This thing that can't exist. Kurjak, am I going crazy? Tell me the truth.” “You're not crazy, Hobbes, and neither am I. Someone is having fun at our expense, some dangerous creature with immense power. Let's go back. There must be stairs somewhere and…” “There he is! There's Krsnik's companion! Let's drink his blood, you creatures of evil!” “Nooo! Behind us is the wall of flame! We're doomed!” “Raauuuurrrghh” “Crap! Die, damn you! Aaaah!” (Kurjak shoots the monster repeatedly in the face but gets slashed in the back himself.) “Ha ha ha! You are finished, companion of my enemy. Death is already in your veins, for in the nails of the Jiang-Shi is the poison of a thousand rotten corpses. But before you die, tell me: Where is the Krsnik?” “You… you are mistaken, you cheap sorcerer. My friend is called Dampyr.” Close enough; "Krsnik" is the Slovenian word for "Dampyr." We saw the Jiang-Shi beast on page 104 and the Kudlak (the mustachioed guy) on page 107. Social/Sharing |

Didn't anyone come prepaed with garlic, crosses, and silver bullets? Andreucci works so well within the darkness!

In this mythos, vampires are particularly vulnerable to sunlight and Dampyr blood but not stopped by crosses, garlic, not being invited into your house, etc. Most of the monsters in this story appear to be regional variations on vampires. Fire also works well on lots of creatures.
One of the things I like about this series is that the constant nighttime scenes give lots of opportunity for dramatic tonal contrasts in the art.
