Description

Harlan and Kurjak finding Tesla having some difficulty with a were-panther. She stabs its brain from inside its mouth (Check out panel 2!), but its burning carcass pins her down:

�Aah!�

(Hobbes) �Did you hear that? Something�s up there. Let's turn back!�

�Aahhh!�

�Harlan, That's Tesla's voice! Run!�

�By all the damned souls! Tesla! Get it off! Tesla! Can you hear me, girly? Answer me, please!�

�At your command, Daddy-o.� (In Italian, "papa-rino.")

�Tesla, thank goodness! For a moment I feared that��

�I've already died once. But that beast's claws hurt me!�

�What was it?�

�Judging from what little remains, that was Chortewa, the panther woman. She was part of tonight's show. But how did she do this to you?�

�She was the emanation of a powerful Master, Kurjak, like the monsters we faced earlier.�

The creature's name was spelled "Chordewa" back on page 104. Notice the off-balance poses in panels 2 and 4, implying rapid movement.

One small complaint: The last panel shows our three protagonists all being the same height, give or take a couple of inches. That seems like a missed opportunity to differentiate them further. I think of Kurjak as taller than Harlan, and Tesla as shorter. But it seems she's a Birgitte Nelson type.
