redo of a design i did LOONG ago. so ok, when i worked at toy biz i annoyed them with many ideas, and one was to do a line of smaller, cartoonier marvel figures. (small and cheap enough that they could include characters they would otherwise never bother with, and also that little kids might actually be able to play with.) i ended up drawing about 100 characters in this style. one of them was a "clean" version of victor von doom, beloved Leader of the kingdom of latveria.

at one time (long before then) i had wanted to do a mini where doom was overthrown and had to go into hiding, and through flashbacks remembered all the "richard iii" schemes and murders he had carried out to seize control of an east european nation in the middle of the cold war. (uh, that gives you an idea how old this story was).

anyway, good times.
