DescriptionJust picked up this beauty at the Lawless Comic Convention in Bristol! Never thought I'd have any Bolland piece in my collection, let alone something this rich in detail and story!Ticks so many boxes - mysterious guys in hazmat suits wheeling a trolley containing a tentacled alien life form, great foreground figure with a phenomenal pose, Bolland shading and hatching which fills out the figures to perfection - its a draughtsman's dream. Thanks to Brian for decades of inspiring work and also for selling this piece at such an affordable price. So delighted to have this! Social/Sharing |

Honestly, Ron, I was never expecting to be in that club - but sometimes a piece speaks to you big time, and if the price also happens to be right, you know it's the only chance you'll get. I actually piad a little more than he was asking, because it's great to get a bargain but even more important to deal fairly - especially when you're fortunate enough to be chatting with the artist themselves!

Jealous of you for both the art and being at the con, that con looks amazing and very cool choice. Not all of his prelims are so close to the published image.

Thanks Peter! Yep the Lawless con was my first, and it had a lovely community feel, I ended up having some great chats in the artist queues as well as the company of my most excellent brother! And I was go smacked at this prelim, it did indeed stand out as being the most detailed and complete, as well as appealing to my weird sci-fi sensibilities!

This is as detailed as a Bolland prelim gets. It's full pencils for a painted cover. Magnificent!

Mad the amount of detail in this - and right up my sci-fi street! Probably the only Bolland piece I'll ever have, but it's one to enjoy and be proud of!

Congrats! That is an awesome prelim!
Thanks Matt! I couldn't agree more! I was gobsmacked when I saw this in Brian's portfolio, it just sang out to me as pure quality! There are occasions when I prefer a lovely detailed bit of pencil work to a finished piece, and this is one of them.
