Description

This is one of my favorite single issues of all time. I couldn't stop thinking about it the first time I read it. All of Hickman's work on X-Men was on the level, but this was something else. I can't explain how excited I am to have a page from this issue, and I hope to get more pages from this book in the future.

I have a page from this issue too and was totally excited about it for the same reason despite it also being a series of costumeless talking head panels. This issue and #7 have a wow factor to them that I'm still not over yet. They're fantastic examples of modern era comics. I never thought that Leinil Yu drawing a fancy dinner party would ever feel so intense.

Absolutely. If someone described this issue to me, I'm not sure I'd be interested, but it's so good.

You're page is dope too. Grats!

I like how casual Yu and Alanguilan make these scenes look even though there's so much panel to panel designwork.  I kind of like that place setting on the soup as it has to look just right to keep you in the moment for the rest of the page to be believable.

Not only is this a beautifully written, drawn and inked issue by the team of Hickman, Yu & Alanguilan (+ colors by Sunny Gho) and one of my favourite comic books ever (the cover being my phone lock screen for years). It is also the last work done by Alanguilan before he sadly passed away in 2019. Long live Gerry!

Right on, and I agree completely. Such an amazing book. I picked this up after his passing, and the sale went to the Alanguilan Estate.
