Has there been another Doc Doom / Spidey cover since the classic ASM #5 by the great Steve Ditko? Not sure, but Ed has done a great job of paying tribute to an iconic Marvel cover.

That cape makes Doom like like he has devil horns! Super sinister with the larger than life way Doom is classically depicted. Spidey in a usual twisty joint popping pose!

I've always loved the classic trope of having the villain hovering overhead in the background, especially throughout the Silver Age. This is a great looking take on that. Kudos!

Absolutely stunning Amazing Spider-Man cover by Ed McGuinness! I love this image of Doctor Doom looming over the city and staring intently at Spider-Man. The fisheye lens effect Ed uses here is very effective at reinforcing how intently Doom is studying Spidey--Like he's looking at him through a miscroscope. And that is basically what Doom is doing, studying Spidey to decide if he is worthy of being the New Champion in the Covenant of Cyttorak! What a great cover for the start of the Eight Deaths of Spider-Man series! Fabulous pick-up, congrats!

It is cool seeing Doom in Doc Strange garb...nice visual combo representing both his scientific and mystical prowess! And that Spidey ain't too shabby, either :) Congrats!
