DescriptionThe tale of Cochlea & Eustachia continues with this interior that gives a look at both characters and the sentient vessels from which they have spawned. Hans Rickheit has built a complete world here and I will probably repeat this, but the imagination on display is wild!Proper form, detail, and clean line work are found on this page and throughout Hans' work. Paired with such a unique story concept, the end result is as original as anything I have seen. If you are wondering what Cochlea & Eustachia even are, it can best be summarized by this excerpt taken directly from Fantagraphics, from his first book back in 2014: “Cochlea & Eustachia appear to be twin human girls, but this has yet to be confirmed. Their actions seem to be motivated less by curiosity than boredom and an inclination towards purposeless destruction. Any connate objective remains to be determined. They never stray apart from each other, out of an unspoken proclivity. Perhaps they keep together because they resemble each other; a mixture of vanity and comfort is the foundation of their constant companionship. They seem to consider any creature with dissimilar features as inept or untrustworthy. They are suspected of giving hypnotic suggestions to cats. They do not seem particularly malicious, just meddlesome. This new graphic novel from the author of the acclaimed Squirrel Machine is lighter in tone than his previous works, yet its myriad charms remain as sinister as Rickheit fans would expect.” We continue. I have no idea what is going on here, but I love the hue of the published page in all of its monochromatic glory. Is that one of Bill's chickens in the last panel? I must learn more about Cochlea & Eustachia.

This is the kind of page I'd love to see on the wall at an orthopedics/pediatrist specialist office! Peel back the layers of the skull expecting to reveal a brain, and find a foot in it's place! Like Jeff I have no idea what's going on or if I bought the right drugs, but it's certainly fascinating!

The series sounds crazy and a focused tale on what people look like, and judging accordingly. The art definition draws you in to want to know more of this weird world. Cheers to creating peeking interests in both story and art.

Sure, give us the lenghty description for what is pretty self explanatory imagery here. But no explanation for the meaning of existence and nor any explanation of Squirrel Machine is simply unforgivable.

Lol Mystery is the theme here! The fact you know of said machine brings a huge smile, and of course, we are all experts on squirrels!
