Descriptionpencil and ink on Bristol board17 h × 11 w in (43 × 28 cm) estimate: $1,500–2,000 Dan Jurgens launched his comics career at DC as the artist on The Warlord, but he quickly rose to prominence by creating Booster Gold—writing, drawing, and starring in the character’s ongoing series. He went on to write and draw major DC titles including Green Arrow, Justice League of America, and a ten‑year run on Superman that featured the blockbuster “Death of Superman” event (for which he won the National Cartoonists Society Award) and the universe-altering Zero Hour crossover. His later work spans both DC and Marvel, including The Sensational Spider‑Man, a seven‑year tenure on Thor, Captain America, and revival projects like 2022’s Blue and Gold and anniversary specials commemorating The Death of Superman. George Pérez was a celebrated Puerto Rican-American comic artist recognized for his intricate style and masterful storytelling in ensemble superhero comics. At DC Comics, he illustrated groundbreaking titles like New Teen Titans (co‑creating Cyborg, Raven, Starfire, and others) and the landmark Crisis on Infinite Earths event; he also had a celebrated run on Wonder Woman (1987-1992) that redefined the character for a new generation.
