Description

Neat little story to this piece -- for several of the Namor covers, John started by doing pencils/rough inks on a standard art board. Next, he xeroxed the drawing onto duoshade paper where he added additional inks and wash effects to the duoshade board. The original published cover (1990) was duoshade and is elsewhere on CAF.

For Namor #12, John did the pencils in 1990 and then provided finishes a few months later. This is the original actual pencils to the published cover with brand new finished inks over top by John. So, this is a prelim (since it was never published), a cover (since this does contain the actual pencils) and a recreation since the inks were done separately. Sort of a Marvel Three-in-One.

....and I just learned that Namor #12 serves as the the cover to Namor: Visionaries Vol. 2 (John Byrne) so now it is a Marvel Four-in-One.
