I clicked on this and just froze, staring at it for about 5 minutes before I could even bring myself to comment. I completely understand how you fell in love with it 8 years ago and why it’s haunted you since. When it comes to dark, shadowy, visuals, this is about as good a “comic noir” gets. But shadows don’t work without effective lighting. And this page is a master class in it. The lighting on panels 1, 2, 3, and especially 5, are absolutely brilliant. I swear, the first thing I thought of when I looked at the sequence just visually (without reading any of the text) was that it was some scene cut out of Howard Hawks’ The Big Sleep. I’m so, so, glad you were able to bring this home. Definitely one you’ll have to bring to the house (or let me visit at the man cave). Congratulations my friend. Now I know why you didn’t answer my email. Haha!

Wow! I just love this page by Graham "Ghastly" Ingels. I appreciate everything about the art--the overly dramatic scene, the sheer intensity on the characters' faces, the thick rich blacks of the inking. It's classic storytelling but with a horror bent to it. Stunning pick-up, congrats!
