Description

As soon as I knew this lithograph existed I knew I HAD to have one. It took years, patience, more money than was probably wise and staying up until 3.30am on a worknight to be sure I won the e-Bay auction (Bloody time difference!!!)

But what a lovely piece it is! Inspired by as noted by below (Thanks Andrew), the Michael Golden cover for Micronauts 15, this has everything for the discerning classic New Mutants fan; Cypher, Warlock, Magik, Cannonball, Mirage, Magma and Wolfsbane in one shot, what more could you want? Well, apart from Sunspot, but I never liked him much.

Art Adams take on the New Mutants was always a treat, and along with Alan Davis and his creator Bill Sienkiewicz, one of the few to really GET Warlock's look.

In this one image we have; Ilyanna with her armour and soulsword, Warlock doing his cute "If in doubt, mimc what Doug is doing" routine, a gorgeous version of Amara in lava-form, Sam as scrawny as he used to be AND a whole bunch of trademark troll/monster things which Mr Adams loves doing so much.

Who could ask for more... other than Sunspot fans, and well, nuts to them! ;)

Actually, i don't mind Sunspots not there. However Art does a great Karma and adding her would have been an improvement.

When I started buying the originals to this series of prints (and was lucky enough to get the Mignola Alpha Flight and Hamilton Warlock), this is the one piece I regret missing out on the most. Like most of us, I had to settle for the print. But who knows, maybe some day.................
