Description

Blondie and Dagwood were married on February 17, 1933 [February 12 in a Sunday page]. They went off on their honeymoon on February 18, 1933, and they returned home on March 6. While there are 13 daily strips during the honeymoon period, four of the strips have virtually nothing to do with the actual honeymoon -- Feb 24, March 2-4, 1933. Therefore, there are really only 9 actual honeymoon strips, and this is the fifth of those rare installments in the early Blondie narrative. I have known about this particular strip since I968, when I bought the first of the two Signet paperbacks of Blondie reprint books, in which it was included.

By the way, Niagra Falls can be seen out the window in the second and third panels.

Fantastic and historical. I love the early Blondie dailies and it is nice seeing the art transition to the art style that we mostly associate with Blondie from later 30's onward.
