Description

As my friend Joakim Gunnarsson (who has a delicate gallery here at CAF too) pointed out before I realized the actual "gag" here, this cartoon constitutes a pretty strong anti-war statement. The German and US soldiers who discover that they look just the same, and are wearing practically identical uniforms apart from the insignia, are a theme I have not encountered before in WWII art (though the idea certainly must have been used several times).
