DescriptionAlthough he's not nearly as well remembered as some of his contemporaries -- such as Frank Kelly Freas, Ed Emshwiller or Ed Valigursky -- Mel Hunter contributed many fine covers to the science fiction digest mags from the early 1950's to the early 1970's. Perhaps his best remembered are a series of covers he did for F&SF featuring a lonely robot. This one is the cover for the April 1961 issue of Galaxy. Titled "A Derelict in the Void", the painting does not illustrate any particular story in the issue.Social/Sharing |
