DescriptionHere's the cover for the upcoming Calgary Expo charity art book, featuring Brandy, Truman and Oscar. (Coming out in April 2012.)It's on 14" x 21" Bristol board. Inked with Micron Pigma pens. This is done in the classic ink pen style, popularized by the great Franklin Booth. This may sound strange but I actually love drawing fabric folds, especially on long old fashion dresses. There's something comforting drawing these organic lines as they dance across the paper, creating texture and weight. Very calming. Social/Sharing |

Wow!!! I saw both version and this is killer. I would assume inking this took a LOT longer than the intial pencils. Amazing.

Wonderful work. I truly think you are in league with Wally Wood in terms of figures and ink-work.

I really love this kind of work. Modern comic art gets so far away from the classic illustration styles. Beautiful when the classical and modern are combined well.

So endearing!... her expression so wistful! Simply enchanting to behold. I dare say that I'm looking at a perfect piece of art.

your evocation of Franklin Booth is spot on here Frank. I love the way the bottom of the drawing is filled with ink lines and the top is so open. The contrast really brings out the beauty in the line work.
