The renderings of Sif and Balder are astounding. Just those few simple lines to denote their shapes in the blaze of light. Brilliant.

Powerful splash. Kirby was ahead of his time in so many ways and his art on Thor literally created new worlds and put them before unsuspecting comic readers for all to see. Pure awesomeness. Congratulations!

Pages like this just flood my mind with the wonderful memory of the smell of newsprint. I so much loved the old 4 color printing on newsprint better than the computer colored slick paper of today. Beautiful page.

What a great piece! And even though not front this full bodied shot of Thor is excellent I snd having Loki andit Jane in there is a bonus to have major characters depicted and ofc this being the splash page of a key issue that featured the coming of the wrecker all the better...

Well sure, Kirby's pencils are pretty special, and Vince Colletta's inks do help carry off the effect, but the page would be nothing without the eternally underrated lettering of Sam Rosen!
