DescriptionThis represents yet another page that comes from one of those unusual finds in Bechara's portfolios where you just do not know what to expect. I came across this page in one of the early NJ comic art shows, and it screamed at me to Buy, Buy, Buy as well! Price was another issue. Of course at that time, the vintage Starlin pages from the 1970s were already in high demand, and Bechara knew it. The Iron Man 55 interior pages were starting to hit the market, and many pages would set sky-high prices on those HA Signature auctions in the early 2010s. I plunked down my cash and walked away with a page from the first appearance of Thanos (not featured here). However, this page represents the birth page and first appearance of the Blood Brothers, so it was somewhat of a consolation to place this page into my collection. This is where Jim Starlin bursts onto the scene with his own unique brand of artistry. He had done some background art from the ASM and from IM 53. However, this is where he introduced an unsuspecting world with his cosmic mastery and storytelling. Social/Sharing |

Fantastic page and smart pick-up! It's the cover image from a Marvel key issue, congrats!

A classic issue with that exemplified the early cosmic saga for Marvel. When you start using the term "birth page" then I know it's gotten a real hold on the hobby.

I remember well many of our engagements at the Baltimore and Philadelphia shows back in the mid-2000s. I still kick myself in the butt for not purchasing that CM 33 page that you offered me in one of our aisle meetings. Those were fun times remembering a bygone era where eBay dominated then-current market pricing and the auction houses were just another venue for consideration.

Wow! Now all we have to do is wait for all the IM collectors to chime in. Great page from an historic issue. While a page with Thanos actually on it would obviously be most desirable, I think ANY page from this book would be a big score for all IM fans. Congrats on getting such a great one.

As I recall, there are 3 brothers. One of them is named Dan or something.

Don't know how I missed this one but what an awesome Jim Starlin page! I loved the Blood Brothers when they were first introduced and this is where it all started! Historic. Epic. Iconic.
