Description

A fantastic Black Knight pencil sketch done during what many would argue was his prime period (1983- at the end of his splendid and popular Marvel Team Up and Power Man & Iron Fist runs).

I can only guess that this seemingly strange request of a character comes from Gammill�s association with him by way of the corresponding entry in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe he drew.

The pose there was obviously a bit more static whereas this sketch is Black Knight jumping into action.

On top of the usual impeccable anatomy and strong figure work, I love the pose which I find realistic for a sword wielder, readying to strike from top to bottom. The flow of the cape gives a nice sense of movement. The demonic �bat ears� to his helmet are a nice touch, referring the middle age version of the character.

The pure pencil is a delight as Gammill is a master with it.

Well, he is a master, period.

I agree - a dynamic pose! Love the rendering done via pencil and the design of the costume really does give Gammill in opportunity to show his skills. Congrats!
