DescriptionMarvel Comics #1 (published in the 1939 Timely comic book that launched the Marvel super-hero Universe) Sub-Mariner, page 12 original art. The last page of Namor's first appearance, created and drawn by Bill Everett when he was just 21 years old. Seems miraculous to me that this page still exists. Ex. Pete Morisi estate.P.S. This artwork is on display through September 5, 2022, at the Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes Museum exhibition, currently at COSI. The printed comic doesn't do the Everett OA justice. I never thought I would see a page from this book. I was wrong. Happily wrong*****

Astonishing to learn this is still in existence. Makes me wonder what else is out there. Once again, big congratulations.

This is for real? How does this not have 1000 comments!?!?! One of the coolest, rarest things I've ever seen in comics, bar none!

I don't recall seeing a more historic and important page before. The fact that it is a page from Marvel Comics 1 blows my mind. If you ever decide to share the story about this page, I would love it hear it.

Love his storytelling in panels 3,4 and 5. Considering this is 1939, he's way more efficient than many of his colleagues at the time.

UNBELIEVABLE! This is an amazing treasure; thank yo SO much for sharing it with us - I had no idea any pages from this book existed. You made my Friday. :) What is the story behind its acquisition (if you don't mind my asking)? Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, and most wonderful.

Hi Jason, I believe it was originally discovered by Mike Burkey 15-20 years ago in a stack of Golden Age art. Eventually it was consigned to Heritage in 2005 and sold for $86,250, which I believe was, at the time, the highest price ever realized at auction for any piece of original comic book art. Some eight years later, Joe and Nadia Mannarino, who had purchased the page at the 2005 auction, were kind enough to give me first shot on a magnificent group of art they were ready to sell, of which this page was one of the highlights. They asked me to make a fair offer, which I happily did, and they accepted immediately without negotiation. This was a few years before they joined our team at Heritage, but was fairly typical of my very-low-stress and happy dealings with Joe and Nadia over the course of several decades. Indeed they were the first dealers I ever bought from, back in the 1980s. And for the record they are even more wonderful as colleagues than as suppliers/candymen. :-)

Outstanding. Thank you. Serious congratulations on acquiring not only one of the most textbook CLASSIC pieces I've ever seen, but some excellent co-workers / team members (which can sometimes be just as rare :) ). Most amazing page. Love it. :)

This is at the very least a national treasure, if not an international treasure!!! WOW! I know Marvel Comics 1 doesnt get quite the fanfare that Action 1 or Detective 27 gets but to think about comics and pop culture without the existence of this book and subsequent IP's, just boggles my mind. CONGRATULATIONS!

OK, so I'm in a meeting room surrounded by suits. I have a presentation to make. An impotant one worth a large sum to me. The ultimate decision maker is late so I glance at my phone. A CAF email popps up displaying this art. Out of reflex I shout, "Holy Fn Sh_ _!" just as the boss walks in.

One does one say about a page from one of the books that helped build the very foundation of a medium that has influenced the entire world, other than, I'm honored to see it. Thank you for sharing it with us.
P.S. - I followed the Ruby Slippers all the way to the 28 million dollar finish! Wow!!
