DescriptionThis size was only used for a short time, and only a handful of full-page Flash Gordon originals are known to exist. According to Jerry Weist, "The years of 1935-1936 are considered Raymond's artistic peak." Azura, The Witch Queen of Mongo, who appears for the very first time in the fourth panel, then materializes dramatically before Flash and Dale in the final panel, would figure prominently in later strips, as well as in numerous movie serial, cartoon and TV series episodes.Social/Sharing |

Gorgeous, lush inking. You can really see how this would have influenced Frazetta.
