DescriptionFrom Gray Morrow to Kevin Nowlan, some of the medium's greatest draftsmen have rendered Marvel's muck monster. But, Man Thing will always be Mike Ploog's character in my mind... nobody drew him better! I had a few Ploog issues when I was a kid, so his version is imprinted with me as the iconic one.I may be one of only a few people who feel this way, but... if I go to my grave without finding a Ploog Man-Thing page with Dawg on it, I will haunt the hell out of CAF! Yep, Ploog was one of the great workhorses of 1970's Marvel -- Man-Thing, Frankenstein, Werewolf By Night, Ghost Rider, Planet of the Apes -- awesome stuff, man! And awesome splash!

This does what a great title/splash should do... Makes you want to dive right into the comic!

This book scared the hell out of me when I was a kid, scared me so much that even the title, Dance to the Murder, gave me nightmares. Thanks for tapping into my dreams. Eek. And I agree about Ploog's Man-Thing. It wasn't until years later that I heard the Eisner connection, but I think that's why his Man-Thing was so good -- it seemed somehow realistic.

And I thought the second page of this issue was nice.... Wow!! This is just great. The image of the Man-Thing lurking in the background is awe-inspiring. Thanks for sharing this beauty!

Superb title splash. Man -Thing was always one of Marvels dumpest characters and the stories highy stupid, but the art was really great with artists like Mike Ploog, Neal Adams, John Buscema, Frank Brunner,etc.. !

Wow, that's incredible! Superb title splash, and I love the motif of the story title emerging in the smoke of the fire. Gerber wrote some great stories for Ploog's amazing run on the title.
