Description

Black Cat Mystery #49, page 1. By Manny Stallman and John Giunta. This story was radically censored and re-written for post-Code publication. Sadly for naught -- it seems to have never been published in its modified form. I have painstakingly restored the original artwork to its pre-Code glory. A true gem of Harvey horror by a pair of extraordinarily talented, but sadly under-appreciated artists. John Giunta helped a young Frank Frazetta break into the comic business.

Great splash, and the whole story is elegantly drawn. I guess I have the cover that goes with this story (?) on my CAF gallery, but it has no connection except the title.

Hi Aaron, Thanks for the comment. I know your cover, it's a great one. There WAS a Harvey horror story involving a guy being eaten by rats (like your cover) but it was published in a different issue. The only similarity between your cover and my story from that issue is the title!
