DescriptionOne of those cingular moments and images from Marvel's best period. Buscema always graced the Vision with such nobility and vulnerability. This piece depicts both traits. Thanks to Joe for hooking me up.Social/Sharing |

Scott, I am so glad you are posting your collection. I of course love the Neal Adams art you own but this Buscema piece may very well be the jewel of your collection. It is absolutely breath taking. You have an AMAZING collection. Congratulations. Brian

Scott, There are really only a handful of pages that would be considered cornerstone examples of 60's Marvel comics, and this page is most definitely one of them. Anyone that read comics in the 60's as a kid most likely has that page forever etched into their subconcious. Congrats on owning it, and thank you for posting it for all of us to see. --Stu

Grail couple of stories for me, issues 57 and 58 - this is a fantastic page that needs no more to be said - other than, "unbelievable!". Enjoy!

Scott, you fiend! This page is a beast, a Muhammad Ali of Comic Art!! I loved the Avengers (Especially the Thomas / Buscema run) and must have been around 8 or 9 years old when this came out and the impact of things when you are a child is huge - the feeling when I got to this last page has stayed with me through life. Seeing the page brought it all back. What a great page this is. Thanks for posting.

What a key Marvel moment in "The Avengers". Anyone who has even the slightest interest in comics will fondly remember this heartfelt scene. Truly inspiring. John Buscema really shines brightly here. I'm astonished.

I enjoyed Buscema's work on the Avengers and he had some good inkers while on the book, but I think the Buscema/Klein combination is my favorite. Klein is an inker whose work isn't as well appreciated as I think it should be. He was remarkable. His work on Swan in the Adventure Comics run of the LSH is outstanding as well. Just a beautiful page. Thanks for sharing it.

Fantastic John Buscema art with incredible careful inking by George Klein, who died the year after this page here was published. This is, together with the age before as classic as it can get.

This is just one of the best pages of art ever created by human hands. In and outside of comics. It's an honor to be able to view it here and comment on its effect on me.

pages like this are the reason the featured art section exists, such a shame it took me so many years to see this beauty.
