DescriptionI had seen an alternate version of this image (by Sienkiewicz again) on sale sometime around 2007, and that opportunity passed me by because of ...erm...budget issues. This one, however, is just what the doctor ordered. It was the published cover to the first trade paperback from First Comics. The raw power of this piece is extraordinary, as is the way the artist conveys fluid motion, blood-soaked violence, elegant design. You can also see the glimmer of innocence and horror through Daigoro's eyes, as he peeps out from behind. The blood splatter feels three-dimensional, as I touch the piece.This piece was based on Miller's pencils (which you can see in the additional images), but Sienkiewicz completely makes it his own. Why do I have the feeling that there will be more Sienkiewicz paintings in my collection soon? If you haven't read Lone Wolf and Cub yet, there is something missing in your life, you just don't know it. Dark Horse is re-releasing the series as oversized omnibus editions, so there's no excuse. I have always loved this piece. Hunted down the trade paperback (no mean feat in pre-internet days) as much for this cover image as for the contents. I enjoy seeing the contrast between Miller's pencils and Sienkiewicz' painting. Congrats on a true stunner by two legends! :)

I believe it was a hardcover...regardless, it was a beautiful package. Great seeing the real thing land in your collection. Congrats, Satya!

The pencils look gorgeous enough, but what Sienkiewicz did with them is lurid, expressionistic and brilliant. You have given me yet another reason to admire your collection.

This piece have a incredible colors!!!, excellent acquisition. Miller and Sienkiewic together, you can not ask more.

Gorgeous cover, from the colors to the patterns on the kimono to the sleek speed lines and airbrush effect. it is all Sienkiewicz. I was bummed when I saw it as it was WAY out of my price range. But it inspired me to get a commission of Lone Wolf from BIll. So glad it found a good home and that it is upon CAF. Thanks for sharing.

WOW!!! This is a gorgeous work of art and a wonderful collaboration between to masters of the medium. Doesn't get much better than this.
