DescriptionPurchased through the official artofmikemignola.com webstore during its art sale on Dec 1st 2014.Puppets. Scattering the floors and steps of an old Sicilian convent. A rectory where children reside, orphaned during WW2. Needing no strings to come wander the night, from a chest in the cellar nobody knew about. Except the young priest wanting to utilize them for catechism. Puppets. Will they behave or act as how they're made to look? Will they stick to their part, faithfully, or what? Would they be to know or appreciate how people would actually not be made of wood? Would they be aware how puppets couldn't really be Biblical figures themselves? What could puppets know of faith or kindness? What would they come to be fighting for? What kind of an icon would this figure make, complete with its saintly stuck-on halo-thing tilted due to peering into thought, towards some point to make, one solidified indexy puppethand held upright, the other more rather contemplatively chest-restant? And what would it be seeing? From the lush 2012 illustrated novella of mr Mike Mignola and Chris Golden, full of woodcutty inkwashes plus one stare-down watercolor cover. Ha! Now I know where this went! I actually had 3 pieces of art in my cart, and this is one of 2 that were 'yanked' out of my cart. Oh, well. Cool image.

Cool image. Can't have been this particular piece as a matter of fact, Frank. Plus didn't you notice that at that particular sale these smaller items were only supposed to sell one per customer - in order to give more buyers a chance?! Nobody was yanking at anything or only us silly buyers ourselves! Anyway, you congrats on the solid Ouija board box cover 'though. You should feel very fortunate with it.
