DescriptionI've been after a great Bachalo page for years. I loved his work on Dr. Strange and had even asked Chris about this very page a few months ago!! Definitely had some lucky timing on snagging this one:)Social/Sharing |

Sharp and precise lines and patterns delineate the scenes with that Bachalo style that has enchanted fans of him working with more mystic characters. This reunion of Bachalo's and Townsend art was a smashing success! The layout with the large image followed by the film strip tiers is bold and switches the action's pacing . They allow some quick cartooning to happen and every panel gets that Townsend polish.

Bachalo's Doc was new and different. Can't say it was fully respectful of the character, but visually it was a joy to behold

BEAUTIFUL page, R F!! Way to explode out of the gate, as far as Bachalo pieces go - Yowza! And this is not only a fantastic page by Chris, but it's also made all the more beautiful (just as Marcus sagely pointed out) by the inking of Tim Townsend. Lots of strong inkers on this title, for sure, but there's always been something special about that particular combo... Just in that top panel alone you have the shading on Doc's left leg, the "looping" Empirukul motif that ran through a good chunk of the beginning of the run, the fine detailing on the fringes of the Cloak of Levitation, the wall of wolves in the background, Doc's belt buckle and hands... Just... wow. Panel 2 is so wonderful and fantastical that it looks like you could drop it right into a Buckingham 'Fables' issue, and panel 3 would work well as your new CAF avatar! (Very rabiddy and ferrety! :) ). Fantastic score, every panel, and congrats on your first (of hopefully many!) Bachalos.

Awesome! Great example of Chris's killer run on the Doc. Sweet splashy shot up top followed by some sweet storytelling below. Dig that final head shot :) AND Townsend inks! Congrats!

I was too slow to get this when it was posted, would have made a great set of 3 in a row :P
Congrats on snagging a beauty. I love this run of Strange. It's what got me interested in the character! Been a fan (of both Bachalo and Strange) ever since!
