DescriptionI was supposed to ink John on this Marvel project, maybe 15-20 years ago. I honestly can't rmember what it was to be about. This is as far as I got before the whole thing fell apart. John is a legend and it would have been a high point in my careeer to get to work with him. What if....Social/Sharing |

An unlikely combination, but it looks like it would have turned out great

This is beautiful! And an excellent example of the process, for those of us who appreciate such things.

Love it! I'm so glad it's unfinished so we really get a chance to see both John and your work. It's so clearly Buscema, but at the same time, especially in the Iron Man figure, the inking is unmistakably you. Thanks so much for sharing this!

Man Scott you would have been able to bring Big John to a whole new bunch of Kids that dismissed John as old school. Really nice.

One of my two favorite inkers (the other -Tony Dezuniga) inking John B is a real treat. I always wondered how it could have been... I feel so sad thinking of how much we have missed.... Thanks a lot for sharing, Scott..

I love this, you can see enough of both John and Scotts work here to see what each brought to the page. Part of me would love to see Scott finish this art, but please .....don't. :)

WOW! It is cool to see it in progress, though part of me wants to see it finished too! I'm sure you don't, but if ever you wanted to trade for some Disney animation art, let me know. The artist in me would be pumped looking at this everyday!

I was just asking Tim Townsend about this piece (because I had an old jpg file of it on my desktop and have loved it for years but forgot who did it)! He said its your masterful ink lines for sure. SO, I have tracked it down again! If you are EVER willing to sell it, please let me know!

Such a great inking over nice pencils by Big John, the project would have been a masterpiece !
I love the result. How to add so much while respecting the penciller, this is how we know how good is an inker embellisher, who can emphasize the work of such great artists like Jim, Neal and John. Congratulations Scott !
