DescriptionAdmittedly, the Mignola/Talaoc art in this issue is pretty bad, due primarily to Talaoc completely burying Mignola' pencils, but I'm a big Hulk fan & this story struck a chord in me when it came out. Besides, due to the awful looking art, the pages are very cheap. (EDIT 2022: Inks still pretty awful, pages no longer cheap!) If anybody has any non-Hulk pages from this issue they'd like to sell or trade, please let me know!Oh, before they turn off all the lights I won't read you your wrongs or your rights The time has gone I'll tell you goodnight, close the door Tell you I love you once more The time has gone So here it is I'm not your son, you're not my father We're just two grown men saying goodbye No need to forgive, no need to forget I know your mistakes and you know mine And while you're sleeping I'll try to make you proud So, daddy, won't you just close your eyes? I agree, "awful" is a pretty harsh judgement. Although I've never been a fan of Mike's early version of Hulk (especially here), this particular splash is very well done.

Yes, Ruben, the Mignola/Talaoc art in this issue is pretty bad, but... I LOVE HULK STUFF and I LOVE THIS STORY too!!! Congrats!

I thought the artwork was perfect for this key issue. Great splash page. Congratulations on having it in your collection.

I really disliked their pairing on Alpha Flight at the time but their collaboration has been growing on me.

I saw you called this splash "awful," I think that's a bit harsh. First of all, the layout is stunning--The doctor holding up the baby like Rafiki holds up SImba in Lion King--Only instead of Mufasa in the sky, it's the Hulk! There's a whole mystical feeling to the scene of the baby being offered up to the God...who's the Hulk. And the art is a little primitive, but so is a lot of modern art. I think the face of the Hulk here is pretty frightening-looking---Not unlike Sal Buscema's Hulk. I love the title runnning down the side of the page. Nice composition. Cool imagery. I gotta say, I kinda like it.

I absolutely love this splash! Not sure how I never commented on it before, but the design is fantastic (even if you think Talaoc's inking is a bit overpowering).
