DescriptionJohnny Comet is a strip that I've always only wanted to own one daily of, and it had to have the two elements that are most important to me for this strip: First, a gorgeous female. But not just that, she also had to be wearing a form hugging outfit because I wanted my strip to showcase Frazetta's mastery of anatomy and in particular, the female form. There are many subtle yet essential aspects to the female form that if not properly mastered, simply don't quite "get it right". In this daily, Raven Rockett's posture in the first panel is simply exquisite! You can literally see that she exhibits the proper weight transfer corresponding to her stance, and everything from the soft facial features, to the beautiful silky hair, and right on down to the gorgeous arm and hand position feels so natural and effortless! Even Johnny's posture and anatomy are picture perfect. From his right shoulder down to his forearm, then bending ever so perfectly at the wrist and on to his hand as it clutches his belt. Absolute perfection!I'll admit that although I'd love to have had every single panel contain Frazetta's fine line brushwork, I've grown to really love the fact that the strip ends with the characters completely blacked out in silhouette, contrasting beautifully against the stark white moon. For me, it rarely gets better than this! Social/Sharing |

This is one beautiful strip, Ruben. I'm jealous. Hope you didn't have to mortgage your house to get it. Incredible.

Nice strip. At the risk of being really politically incorrect here, Did Raven drum for Def Leppard?

Can't believe I have not commented on this absolute beauty! Have to agree with you - that last panel is really special.

Methinks too many fingers were handling her upper torso as the zipatone is more discolored here than elsewhere. Lol. Frazetta was (understatement of the year follows) pretty good.
