Description

After my family, my 2 greatest passions in life are illustration and finance. Since the newspaper strip is one of my favorite areas of illustration and since the stock market is my favorite part of finance, adding this very early Blondie example to my collection was an absolute no brainer!

The fact that this is a Great Depression era example (which itself was caused by a sudden Stock Market plunge) of a strip I always loved reading during my youth and that it shows one of those classic original stock tickers, is just the icing on an already very delicious cake!

Holy crap, Ruben! I'm right there with you. Big fan (and hater, depending on the week) of the market as well. What a GEM of a strip! And the fact that Blondie mentions "Mr. Bumstead" only makes it more historically sweeter, on top of the already-famous reference of The Great Crash. And of course, the art is lovely. Amazing how Chic Young evolved. Thanks and congrats!
