Description

The piece de resistance. In my last letter to Al, I mentioned, as we were discussing a trade, that my wife and step-daughter both rode horses, English style. So he sent this incredible beauty along. The pen work just knocks my socks off. The lyrical, elegant line is reminiscent of so many of the great illustrators of yore. And the exuberance of the kid....I think he was watching Mari ride! This was the last piece that I opened in the package, and the one sings to me most. Everything wonderful about Al's work is contained in this drawing.
