DescriptionCool pair of illustrations done in 1946 by Milton Caniff. After his hugely successful run on Terry and Pirates, 1946 saw Caniff starting off on a new comic adventure in the form of creator owned and controlled Steve Canyon. To promote the character, Caniff did a national tour and stopped in many of the important newspaper cities. While in Denver, he stayed with Alexis and Esther McKinney and drew these two illustrations for their 9 year old daughter, Eunice. Alexis was the assistant to the publisher of the Denver Post at the time. These are truly unique pieces which I happy to have in my collection and backstory and historical context of the art only adds to my appreciation.Social/Sharing |

The art, story and style are all great. Putting them together is a magical combination. Thank you for sharing them.
