DescriptionPREACHER was my favorite ongoing title in the '90s and sits among the all-time favorites overall. Happy to have gotten pages along the way. But never thought a cover would happen as one collector owned them all (except for #1).Until they started showing up at Heritage over the past couple of years. Became apparent that the collection was getting broken up. So bided my time for the right one. I believe this is a situation where since so many have become available, collectors may have been lulled into complancency. But these will all eventually sell. This was (and remains) a major opportunity. Very proud of the pages I have; didn't really need a cover to go with them. But the collection does feel more complete with it. Happy 30th anniversary to Jesse, Tulip, Cassidy, Arseface, and the rest! Social/Sharing |

Congrats not just on getting one, but getting such a nice one. When it came to Fabry covers and Alex Ross covers, "S" was scooping them up almost faster than they could be painted. Glad to see he's finally allowing others the privilege of being caretakers for some of them.

I have to love Crusaders
Not Marvel and DC
I'm looking out for Grails
Just trying to find some piece
Now I think it's time
That cool Ennis shows
So if you’re Jesse
Say you love these
But if you don't just Vertigo
'Cause Preacher
There are paints that I just want to earn
And the last one I had
Fabry style
So I just want to learn to
Hold you, brush you
Think that you're mine
Because the paint’s all joy
For a Paltown boy
Whose Peacher has told him good buy, good buy, good buy

A great cover among many in the series. Preacher is probably my favorite series of all time and I hope to one day add some art from it to my collection as well. Congrats!

Though I never read past the first two trades, I've always loved most of Fabry's Preacher covers. This one is really quite striking. It’s true that when a flood of key pieces hits the market, there’s a brief window where demand softens, but in the long run, as you rightly point out, these will all find their "perma-homes". With the interior pages you already have, adding a cover really does bring the collection full circle. Huge congrats on securing it!

Brilliant! Preacher took over as essential reading for me as Sandman was winding down. Not too many of these have surfaced on CAF since going to Heritage. I vaguely remember seeing the covers for sale ($1000 a pop) at Wildstorm Fine Arts back in the mid 90s, while the comic was still being produced (issues were still in the early teens). Asked Fabry about them back in 2005 at SDCC. He mentioned "the collector" who had them all. Congrats!

I feel similarly. Timing and now that many have sold I may have missed my chance. But at least beauties like this are viewable here on CAF. Congrats!!

Fantastic Preacher cover! I always appreciated Glenn Fabry's covers for Preadher, they were part and parcel to the great comics of the 1990's. This one is particularly nice, with the powerful images of Jesse Custer and Tulip O'Hare standing back to back with Tulip blowing smoke from her revolver and Jesse casually lighting a cigarette. Meanwhile, a host of fanatics have their weapons out, aimed directly at Jesse and Tulip. It's a killer cover! Great pick-up, congrats!
