DescriptionLast week scrolling through Instagram I came across a piece that called me right back to the 90's and the era of X-Men that defined it for me. At first I thought it was a lost piece or promotional piece that I had never seen. Then to find it's from good buddy, amazing artist and fellow collector Eranga - I should have known! - Turns out this is his take on one of Jim Lee's layouts from back in the day - now fully realized and having us ask why would Jim abandon this when it works so well. Eranga buddy - I think you hit the era perfectly here!Social/Sharing |

Heartily agree! They could even use this one! I mean - I wouldn't complain!

In the brushstrokes of dawn, Eranga paints the dreams,
Heroes of old reborn in vibrant streams.
X-Men stride boldly where legends once roamed,
A tale of art and time gracefully honed.
From the echoes of the early 90's, a rough cover did tell
Jim Lee’s vision that sparked this magical spell.
Eranga’s hand brought that vision to flame,
A masterpiece rising, bold and untamed.
Byron keeps the memory alive online,
Guarding the art where past and present align.
In every shared pixel and each heartfelt scroll,
Their friendship and art together make us whole.

This would have been two connecting covers. Jim Lee knew he'd make double that with four connecting covers and a full gatefold version. Eranga contracts the action for a pulse pounding piece!

Maybe a better comp than the one they went with? Nice work by Eranga.
