DescriptionI had the pleasure of meeting the one and only Mr. Simon Bisley at NYCC 2013. After watching him finish an awesome Lobo sketch for someone, I first asked if he'd sign a piece of his I've had for a number of years, but which was unsigned. He graciously did that for me and then I asked about acquiring a sketch. I initially asked for a Hellboy...Simon asked if I had any reference, which I didn't and couldn't locate via my Iphone because of the bad wifi in the Javits Center so I asked him if he'd want to do a Frankenstein, as I had some reference of him. He was into that.I asked Simon if I could film him while he drew and he said sure, then told me to come behind the booth, as there was a seat next to him. What ensued was around 45 min of sketching, comedy routine, drawing lesson and general funny craziness...it was the first time I'd met him, but he made you feel like you were old friends. A great guy, a funny guy, and an amazing artist. Approx. 11.5" x 16.5". Love your story man. I also had the nice chance to sit and chat a bit while he signed a bunch of pieces that needed sigs. and he knocked out a quick Nosferatu for me. You musta set him off on the old school horror mindstate for when I came around. It was really cool to get the Biz over on this side of the pond. I think it was interesting though, my ny accent was hard for him to understand, lol. And I found it hard for understand his accent. Anyways, it was a long time comiong for me to finally catch up with him and shoot the sh*t. Very humble and goofy. Its nice to see the human side behind the creations. Congrats on the Frankenstein, check my profile next few days, ill put up some pics.
