Description

It's the battle of the sexes in the Mighty Marvel Manner! An absolutely amazing page from one of my favorite comics, Incredible Hulk 142, depicting Marvel's strongest male character defeated by Valkyrie. I just love how many of the comics from this era reflected social issues... especially when beautifully illustrated by the Hulk's classic Trimpe/Severin artistic team!!! And of course, these two combatants would later become close friends in the pages of the Defenders.

Exceptional page and a real piece of Marvel history. That's a great fight sequence, and the Hulk's refusal to hit Valkyrie continued into the Defenders story arcs.
