Description

Fun art from this obscure series that was only syndicated for about 8 months in 1967. Oksner's girl art is always nice to behold. The fact that the humor from the strip stems from a stereotype of young, blonde females being "ditsy" makes it a bit uncomfortable and unacceptable by modern standards. Even at the time, the gag wears out pretty quickly and likely contributed to the lack of success of the feature. Nice art all the same.

There are Soozi strips in which she's portrayed as essentially innocent and fun-loving, and these are cute strips that bring a smile. But you're right, there are other strips that are wince-inducing in which she's portrayed as stupid and in line with the blonde stereotype, and these are a little tough to laugh with and at today. The ink line here is still gorgeous, though, and so are panels 2 and 3 especially!

Best example I've ever seen, not even because of the GGA, though that helps, but because of the line. Oksner's line on this is magnificent.
