DescriptionOne of the Holiest of my Holy Grails and the one piece of art I NEVER thought that I would own. Four months after I bought the page 1 splash to Super Team Family, the dealer who sold it to me, Ruben Espinosa, got in touch with me. He said he remembered that it was from a story that meant a lot to me as a kid and that he had come across the double page splash from the story. Would I be interested in buying it! Wow! This one wasn't even on my radar since I assumed that it was stashed away in someones's collection! Of course, I bought it and have been staring at it ever since! Thanks, Ruben!Social/Sharing |

I'm glad you're happy with it and still have it after all these years. It is a pretty nice DPS!

I love it when someone can acquire a meaningful piece that they never thought they might get. And this is a beauty! Congrats!!

Alan Weiss is one of my favorites. I love his style. I first encountered his work on ASM #209. Kraven the Hunter and the first Calypso appearance. These pages are wonderful, but I've look everywhere in your gallery and hate to ask, what happened to page 1?

As you can tell, I also love Alan's work. As to the page 1 splash, I sold it to another collector, CAF member bronze-is-gold. I had anothe piece that I wanted and, even after the sale, would still have 4 pages from Weiss's Super Team Family # 11. So, win, win.

I found it in Bronze is Gold's gallery. Wow! You must have REALLY wanted that other piece. This page one IS gold! As you say, though, win-win. Your pages are beautiful.
