DescriptionOriginal Belgium movie poster artwork for the 1951 B movie classic, The Man from Planet X. It's an interesting blend of production art techniques. The background was completed first in gouache along with some of the credits being hand lettered on the board. The secondary and main character elements seem to be painted over photographs pasted on top of the background and then blended in. Finally the main title was hand painted individual letters done on a separate paper which were in turn pasted on. There are no overlays. There's a whole lot of skill in this and every inch is original artwork. If anyone knows who created this piece, please let me know. See additional image for the published version.Social/Sharing |
