Description

John Byrne said that these were�
"Part of a series of images for a movie Shooter was involved in somehow." and a�
"Pitch piece Shooter asked me to do for a Marvel movie that didn't happen."

When asked about this one, much later than the first three, Byrne didn't recall what it was for. So, I'm making the leap that this belongs to the Marvel Movie Project.

In this one�I figure this guy's the villain of the piece, despite his sympathetic face. He probably has some cool evil sounding name like Damian Crowley or just Malachi. Standing behind our evil genius, we find his top henchman (or henchbot), with a likewise eerie sounding name, let�s just go with Eviltron! He eats other murderbots for breakfast, like Maximilian from the Black Hole or the Terminator wouldn't stand a chance! Eviltron probably would have been the breakout star of the movie, and in an alternate timeline, Eviltron went on to have two sequel movies and a string of comic books, helmed by Byrne of course! ;)

My headcannon on this piece is that JB was reimagining Magnus, Robot Fighter. Nice pickup!

This is so awesome! It reminds me of his earlier style during charlton’s DOOMSDAY +1 series. What a rare find!
