Description

Absolutely loved Marshall's adaption of Harlan Ellison's "Demon with a Glass Hand"! Just one of the cool factors was Marshall's choice to use the famous real-life Bradbury Building in L.A. to double for Harlan's fictional Seeleg Building. A stunning visual made famous in the favored cult classic Blade Runner, and a real treat to see Rogers go to town with all the ornate cast iron walkways and architecture.

The coolest Easter egg found on the last page (not this page!) of the adaptation comes from Marshall Rogers sneaking in that the world of Trent & Co. inhabit the same universe as Cap'n Quick & The Foozle! It seems Klonsbon the Foozle has an office on the second floor of the Seeleg Building, since we can see his name painted on an office door in panel 2—too cool!

Oversized art from 1986 - 13x19.

Nice page, I have the one that preceeds this (along with others).  Rogers didn't make the 'Seeleg Building' the Bradbury . . .  Harlan Ellison called it the 'Seeleg Building' in his teleplay as a nod of the head to Seeleg Lester who was script editor for the second season of OUTER LIMITS - where Demon With a Glass Hand was originally appeared,  The episode was filmed at the Bradbury Building . . . it's mentioned on a placard on the ground floor of the Bradbury.

Oh, oh, excellent, I didn't remember the episode, only recalling Robert Culp, thx!  So, boil my description down to "What Terry said!" 🍻

Is it weird that I find the little ink scribbles in the margins just as satisfying as the art? Talk about a great page for so many reasons including all the info you and Terry have provided. Congrats on adding this one!

Aren't those marks just trying to get the ink on the brush the right consistency by removing excess before applying to the actual drawings?  What say you, artist man?

Haha! Yes, that doesn't mean I can't find them satisfying though. It's fun to see him working that out in the margins. Bonus art to me. =)
